Westhaven Biggest Loser Week 2 Results

Well….  I’m pretty bummed this week.  After being super disciplined in my eating I only lost one pound.  To my credit it is “that time” and during “that time” I often gain a couple pounds.  I also didn’t work out as much as I should have- only 3 times.  So this week the food stays disciplined and I’m adding a couple boot camp classes… which should thoroughly kick my bootie.  I was really hoping for weight loss of 2-3 pounds a week.  We’ll see.  If this next week I don’t see the results I want I’m going to start 2-a-day workouts.  I have got to get my metabolism going again.

On a good note.  The healthier eating seems to have really helped my energy level.  Before I was working out but not eating so great and I was having to go to bed at 8 and exhausted most of the day.  Lately I have had the stamina for the day, the kids, the house, etc.  So I’m thankful for that!

Remember, weight loss isn’t the only positive sign you will see, you mentioned your energy level…

I used to run on my treadmill 30 minutes in the morning and often repeat it right after work. I saw AMAZING results when i did that.

    Good luck!

Girl, I feel your pain! I’ve been working out with a trainer, doing cardio 4x a week and watching my portion sizes and haven’t lost anything. It’s only been 2 weeks tho. I think the key is to stop weighing yourself, drink lots of water and stick with it. More important than weight loss is HEALTH. So hang in there!

there are some food based metabolic boosters. cinnamon, avacado’s and coconut oil are all fantastic ways to get the body into high gear so that when you train the fats sustain your ability to continue excercising.

another idea is to vary the routine. circuit training and interval training are great. the dull roar of the treadmill can get you into a lull that is harder to break.

regardless, celebrate your healthy lifestyle. you might want to reconsider the 2-a-days though. if you are still breast feeding, you burn between 500-1200 cals per day anyway. it is possible that your body will go into fat preservation mode and you will plateau. you might not be getting enough food intake to facilitate weight loss. since winter is here you body stores fat for insulation and optimization. if you try to go against that, you will see little weight loss to a possible weight gain due to not eating eough. that is where olive oil, coconut oil, avacados and other healthy fats give you a huge boost.

take care and make sure you are having fun as well

I’m doing Weight Watchers right now. I’ve had about 10 pounds I’ve wanted to drop but can just never get over the hump. So I joined WW. I just finished my 3rd week and I’ve lost 5.4 lbs. It has totally changed my way of thinking about food (which is the main reason I joined). It is a life change not a diet. I know I sound like an old lady, but it has really worked for me. :)
