These 3 Qualities- Group Writing Project.

I’m hosting my first ever group writing project! For those unfamiliar with the idea of a group writing project let me explain. When a person hosts a project they choose a topic. Those who wish to participate then choose what to write on that relates to the topic. Once their post is written they then submit their post via host’s preferred method.

Why participate in a Group Contest?:

Sharpen your writing skills. Having a specific writing assignment pushes you to use those old college/high school methods of brainstorming, essay writing, proof writing etc. You remember to organize your thoughts and write purposefully rather than simply throwing something against the wall.
Gain exposure. You will be linked to on the hots blog. This will in turn bring more traffic to your site as others read what you have written.
Find new interesting blogs to read. I have found many great sites through links in group writing projects.
Get and Give link love. Many bloggers know that links toward your blog increase your Technorati authority and Google ranking. If you participate in the project make sure to both let your readers know about it, and post the final list of links on your own site. (This is quickly done by viewing the source of the web page and copying the links.)

Now that you have a group project explanation, let me get on to the requirements for this one.

Topic: These 3 qualities make me a better ______. It could be mother, student, husband, swimmer, etc. You may title it whatever you wish, get creative, or simply fill in the blank.

Prize: Guys may not like this one… sorry fellas. The prize is the purple leaves custom theme I designed that has not sold yet. I realize that if this prize is not one that you want you may not want to participate, but my hope is you will anyway. You are welcome to give the theme you win away to someone else if you win and do not want it. Remember most of the fun comes from linking anyway! (sidenote: this is a wordpress theme so sadly it will not work on blogger :()

ADDITION: Because I’m realizing several of my blog friends either have their own custom theme, or are on a wordpress.com, or blogger site… I realize I really need to have an additional prize! The winner will also recieve $20 gift card to the online store of your choice, the only pre-requisite would be that it is a store that allows me to purchase a gift card online.

How To Enter: Mention and link to this contest (direct URL) in your project post and then make sure to either email me or comment your link. I thought of using Mr. Linky, but this way I can post a daily list (which will give you an extra link) and then a final list. Make sure you send me your name, the url of the post, and the title.

Deadline: Midnight EASTERN of next Sunday, September 23rd. The winner will be drawn at random announced on Monday September 24th.
