September 5, 09- How is that for a creative title?

Aside from the political state right now, things have been pretty great (for us). Owen is absolutely loving kindergarten which has me that much more relieved that he was ready. I think we made the right decision in not holding him back. Lukas loves his school. His only disappointment is that it is only 2 days a week. Avery is going to a nanny for 10 hours a week while Lukie is in preschool which has been giving me time to concentrate on work…. and concentrate on them more when they are around. I am loving being back on a routine… I function so much better on a schedule. The wide open time of the summer really gets me down for some reason. I get confused and don’t know what to do with the day! I think next summer I’ll have to plan more structured time.
Jeff and I are going on the HCG diet starting tomorrow so I’ll let you know how that goes. I’m glad to have support this time around. I’m also excited to get back into my cute designer jeans :)
I have been in the middle of some switching of my medication and I feel SO much better. The actual switch was really tough. But my energy level now is so much improved. I stayed up till 10 the other night, which these days has been like staying up all night for me. I know that sounds nuts, but I really didn’t feel refreshed unless I had 10 hours of sleep- and that is just such a waste of time in life. I’m glad to be back to feeling more normal.
On the country…. Seriuosly I won’t go deep into it. BUT SERIOUSLY! Propaganda videos in the classroom? Appointing czars that have claimed that 911 was an inside job? I could go on for awhile. But I won’t. And truthfully I don’t want to spar a huge conversation on this. But really. Really? Gosh I can’t wait for 2012.
Jeff’s mom has really been feeling sick for several months now. No one can quite figure out what is wrong. She could use the prayer so please be praying for her. Jeff is going to see her the end of next week. It’s hard being so far away and feeling like we can’t help very much.
I started by this post saying things have been pretty great. And that is true… for our little family things have been good. However I do feel like so many people I’m surrounded by are in so much pain right now. So many people are going through such terrible things. I don’t want to get into the horror of the situations around me. But it does feel like something is in the air or something. Many people are heavy on my heart and heavy in my prayers. It’s seasons like this I just pray I can be of some help to my friends. Lord knows there have been seasons where I have depended on a lot of help. This is one of those seasons I can pay it forward. God please touch my friends. Comfort their hearts. Grant them peace in the midst of their chaos and heartbreak.

Trying to count to ten and keep my cool…6..7.. but internal pressure is mounting and I’m about to explode. I’m not going to get into a huge political post because I can’t really do that here anymore…8… but seriously, let me just say…9.. I am so unhappy with where this country is going, where it is being led. Argh. I wish I could vent here. …10…
Just some news links:
Obama won’t be more active in helping freedom reign in Iran.
ABC turns their programming over to Obama so he can pitch socialized healthcare- with no time being released for the other argument. nice.
More Rediculous projects in the stimulas.
This is not even close to an exhaustive list of my woes.
We will have a lot to answer to our children and granchildren about.

Mommyzabs has been lacking quality content lately. I have been trying to post, but the quality of the posting is well…. not so much. Am I avoiding controversy? Yeah probably. This election really shook me up. I have never felt so divided with half of my friends. I absolutely love all my friends and in an ideal world something silly like Politics shouldn’t divide. That’s what we all say right? But what about when those things are not merely politics to you but a large part of your ideology? What if you just can’t comprehend the whole abortion issue and how your friends could not only overlook it but rejoice in a candidate that makes huge promises to the pro-abortion special interest groups?
You see from my point of view, you can as a Christian have voted for Obama under two circumstances.
1. Naivety- You bought into the whole shallow promises of hope and change and loved the overall positive marketing of the Obama campaign. You didn’t like the war and bought the media bias against Bush. Therefore you voted for Obama… but when asked you don’t really have any solid reasons why.
or
2. Reluctantly- You weren’t naive about it. You did your research and really many of your ideals line up with Obama. You didn’t like our existing foriegn reputation and policies. You (for some reason) believe in socialized medicine and overall wouldn’t mind seeing bigger government. However you hate abortion (because you love Jesus). This caused a great tug of war in your heart feeling that there was no candidate that truly represented you. You in the end decided to overlook the abortion thing and vote Obama because he lined up in other ways.
If you are person #2 I just can’t even comprehend that you are one of my friends in facebook that sing Obama praises in their facebook status, or have mock up pictures of themselves similiar to the one Shephard from Obey did of Obama. You can’t possibly be one of those that absolutely rejoiced and thought the world was saved (or at least acted like it) when Obama won right? If so, check yourself.
That is what drives me crazy. I can somewhat overlook when friends that fit in category 1 or 2 voted for Obama. What I can’t stand is those that sing his praises when he is against the pro-life movement.
Of course there is category 3.
3. You aren’t a christ follower. You believe abortion is simply a choice. You totally agree with Obama on this issue. We don’t even have a foundation to debate this issue and I understand why you voted Obama. I have no bones to pick with you. Your are being consistent with your beliefs.
If you are
4. A Christ Follower that is pro-choice. Then I have nothing to say to you except get in the Word.
So how is that for content? I’m sure I’m making some people mad and I’m kinda sorry for that. I mean the people-pleasing side of me feels sorry for that… but the idealistic strong opinionated side of me feels no sympathy for offending you.
Letter to President Elect Obama by Rich Nathan

This is an open letter to Obama that my pastor from my hometown church wrote….
“President Obama, on behalf of the Vineyard Church of Columbus, I offer our sincerest congratulations and encouragement as you assume the awesome task of providing leadership for our country and our world. As a Jewish-Christian pastor of a congregation that includes blacks and whites, Hispanics, Asians, and Native Americans, the able-bodied and the disabled, old and young, rich and poor, Republican and Democrat, we come together now to support you as our president. We pledge to pray for you. Without God’s help we cannot succeed; with God’s help we cannot fail.
The greatness of our nation will continue to be measured by our treatment of the least and the last. In our country the least and the last surely include the unborn and their mothers, immigrants, the medically uninsured, and those who still go to bed hungry in this land of abundance. Our congregation urges you to fulfill your commitment to reduce the number of abortions in our nation. Around the world, America is our brothers’ keeper of those suffering in the Darfur and the Congo. Please work on behalf of those enslaved by global sex trafficking, the billion people who live on less than $2 a day, and those who are the victims of religious persecution. As you lead, remember Jesus’ words: “As you have done to the least of these, my brethren, you have done it unto me.”
America has an extraordinary capacity to reinvent herself, rarely more so than in this election. We remain the screen upon which the world projects its greatest hopes and its most noble aspirations. Live a life worthy of our hopes. Be a reconciler. Be a peacemaker. May God bless you and your family. And may America bless God and the world.”
Trick or Treat and Life in General

Well…. We did go trick or treating, but my battery was dead, hence no pictures. So Jenn, Pam, Peggy, Jodi… please send me any and all
We had a blast and went in a whole pack of kids. Our neighborhood is prime trick or treating because of the closeness of the houses and vast number of children. We started the night on our street. Most of the streets had what is called a “cider home” that would have cider, drinks, chili, and snacks. That was great.
People in this neighborhood go all out. Many of the homes were decorated like they would be for Christmas, but with orange lights, webs, and spiders. Some were a little scary for my taste, but most were just cutesie and fun.
After the kids’ bags were so full they could hardly carry them we ended up with incredible chill time at my friend Peggy’s house. She was so generous to open her house up last minute. The kids’ played upstairs and the adults hung downstairs just having great chats and bonding
Trick or treat was a lot of fun for all involved.
Yesterday church was amazing. My friends Peggy and Ian are going with us now and we love that. My friend Jenn came along this Sunday and liked it. The message was all about how the Kingdom of God is not an earthly one, not tangible, but the Israelites were looking for that. He compared it to how we are looking for that in our political system, that we have to remember regardless of the outcome we have an intangible kingdom that can not be shaken. That maybe even if Obama wins it will actually energize his people to pray and seek out rivival instead of sitting back and doing nothing like the religious right did during the Bush administration. He said regardless of who is president our call is the same.
This wasn’t used during the sermon but in Psalm 146:3 it says, “Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save.” I cling to this verse right now. The fact is you have not seen on this blog a ton of McCain excitement. Not that I don’t like McCain, I do… but this time around I don’t think all in the Christian world will be right if he is on the “throne” (so to speak)…. But I do think a lot will be wrong if Obama is. But either way it should not shake our resolve. We trust in a supernatural authority of our Lord God Creator of all. I do think that Obama’s policies will not be good for the health of our country and I feel they are in direct contrast to how our fore-fathers set up our government and authorities. I think if he does all he says he will that our nation (after a few years) will see some pretty depressing times that make the times we are in now look like the “good ole days”. But regardless, we will serve the Lord. In good times and bad times. I’m so thankful to have more than our President and Congress to trust in.
Ecclesiastes 7:14- “When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future.
That’s all I got for today.

Some of you may have seen the interview Biden gave to an Orlando Station/ Barbara West. Because she asked him about Barack Obama’s “spreading the wealth” sounding like Marxism they decided to ban the station from interviews. I guess Obama and Biden are just too used to being coddled by the MSM (minus Fox).

Ode to Road Rage Boy That Did Not Like My NoBama Sticker

Dear Road Rage Boy.
Did you really have to practically kill a motercyclist and innocent driver on the rage fit you thew because of my sticker? Your honking and fist throwing, your shouting obscenities, really had no effect on me outside of entertainment.
Did you somehow miss that your man has some bad friends?
Or how about how those he loves that hate America?
Does it also not bother you that he thinks it is okay to pull a baby part way out of a women then stuff sharp objects into it’s head. Oh yeah and if that doesn’t work, he would rather the baby be left to die than to make the woman second guess her decision.
Oh and to make it better to win the election he’s feeding lies that it is “eight years of failed bush administration economics” that put us in this situation instead of learning from the past 40 years of failed policies, forcing banks to loan to those who can not afford it. If he is so short sided he can blame it on the last 8 years how could he possibly be fit to run the country. Obama is intelligent though so my guess is he knows better. He’s just feeding you the easy sounding answer because he underestimates your ability to research and find out for yourself.
Why does it bother you that Sarah Palin has had only a few years executive experience when Obama has had none?
You know, Obama does not spell H-O-P-E, Christ does. Obama is not the second coming of Christ no matter how many worship songs you sing to him.
What Mr. Obama is not telling you is that with this bail out there is no way you will get your socialism universal healthcare.
Don’t you realize that the small companies filing $250k and above are the same ones that will have to axe your job when they get taxed so high by mr. Obama?
Someone please tell me why NO ONE can get a hold of the man’s senior thesis from college…. What is it he is afraid to reveal?
Why can’t his birth certificate be confirmed, and the 2 copies that he provided as proof don’t even match each other. Hm.
Look, you can shake your fist all you want. I would love to have a black president too… that would be INCREDIBLY awesome… But this guy, my road rage friend, is not the one. I would take 4 terms of Bill Clinton over 1 term of Barak Obama.
Unfortunately most won’t look into these things, or they will absorb the lies. Many Christians even love him! So most likely he will be president, but I will be on my hands and knees begging God for mercy in hopes that he won’t be.
I have hope. It’s just not in Obama.

I’m proud to be part of a generation that does not see color of skin as a disqualification for president! Can I get an Amen? As plainly obvious in the post below, I do not support Obama, but I do take pride in the fact that we have come so far from where the previous generation so wrongly was.
NOW McCain has made his Veep pick. And it is not only a WOMAN, but a MOMMY. A fifth time mom as recent as APRIL. As a mommy myself I think this is incredible move forward for women. She has an infant and is running for Veep. Nice. Me next? (Just kidding)
What a great year.
