Owen wants a Hug

Owen is just like his mom. And sometimes when you have a personality that combines the extreme need of affirmation, intensely sensitive feelings, and the tenacity…. you end up doing interesting things… that is until your grown up and figure how to balance it out… as I’m sure I have mastered, right? Yeah.
I remember being young and thinking the best solution to not having my friends go home when it was there dinner time was to lock them in our basement playroom. This happened on many occasions. I also recall not letting some of my friends go home until they asked “Jesus into their heart” YIKES! That is scary and surely not what Jesus would want us to do. However, I was young andthought I was doing the right thing. I totally missed the point that whether it is love for us or for God, it is intended to be out of free-will. Otherwise, it is shallow and fake.
Most us grow up and learned that forced love does not work. The other half probably either grow up trying to buy love the rest of there lives, or become sociopaths! We’ll just have to point Owen in the direction of learning:
1. you don’t always get what you want.
2. you can’t control other people.
and
3. the best kind of love is given voluntarily.

i totally LOVE the hug/tackle at the end which leads to eruptions of laughter. that is life at it’s finest.
you and your husband are so soft spoken too, so gentle…lots more volume at our house:-)

soft spoken only because the camera is on! My husband is quiet and gental but can roar if he have to… Me I come from a long line of loud greeks! Not much quiet here trust me
Funny how we alter for the video. I hate talking loud on video cameras and i was holding it

What a beautiful family!
Excellent points. I had to laugh at your attempted conversions of your childhood friends. A good friend of mine went around baptizing neighborhood kids when she was 5 years old!
I always like to remind people that when the rich ruler turned Jesus down that Jesus didn’t run after him and tackle him.

Man, it’s only been a couple of days and i had to scroll down to catch up on your blog! Love the camera (i’m in the midst of researching for a new one as well), love the pictures, the new banner, your thoughts! I want to give Lukas and Owen hugs and they are so adorable. Hopefully we’ll catch up soon!
