My New Job at Wordpress Reworked

I wanted to take a moment to let you all know why I posted so little last week and why I have been so busy! Along with taking on Heather’s extra work at Girly Blog Designs, I took on a job at Wordpress Reworked! I will be designing there and posting twice a week under the pseudo name ZABS. I will also be managing the website for it’s new owner Ponn Sabra of EmpowerWomenNow.com. This is an exciting opportunity for me to work more from home in the dead center of the playroom! (I’ll have to post pictures of this one!)
The website was started by Eve of Confessions of a Housewife. When Eve ran out of time to dedicate to this great domain name and concept she put it up for sale. When Ponn saw the site remained up for grabs two weeks later she jumped on it. She quickly placed adds for designers on the Problogger Job board.
Not long after that one of my friends/readers asked me about the job board I had mentioned once upon a post. I bounced on over there to grab the URL for her and saw this opportunity. Since it sounded like exactly what I know how to do, I decided to look further. I’m so glad I did. I didn’t anticipate this opportunity coming, but I’m so thankful that it did so that I have even more opportunity to bring in income while staying home with the little guys.
Please go over there and see my first post at Wordpress Reworked and check out it’s new look!

Congratulations! It’s wonderful when we can use our God-given talents. Getting paid for it makes it sweeter. ;-D Even though I’m mostly a SAHM (and now a homeschooling mom), I still get called in to the ol’ newspaper office to help with editing. Doing it from home is my dream.
Congratulations, again.

Hi Zabs,
Thanks for the concise background on WordpressReworked.
And great rework done at WR itself too!
Looking forwarding to working with you and the rest.

Congratulations, Zabs!
When I was looking to design a website for the Federalist Society, I thought about a blog-type thing (since it is free and easy), but that wasn’t quite what I wanted (format-wise). This is a great idea.
The Design Guy on Thu, 20th Sep 2007 11:12 pm
Hi theobromophile,
If by “format wise” you meant you’d prefer NOT to have the blog element of wordpress, well you could actually create a “regular” website.
For instance, would you have guessed this swim coach site was created using wordpress?

Sherman,
It was easier to use googlepages than to try to figure out how to retrofit a blog for my purposes. My budget for these enterprises was $0: nothing for designers, nothing for hosting, nothing for domain names.

Hi theobromophile,
I’ve no experience with googlepages so I’m afraid I can’t help much here.
But so long as it suits your needs then that’s all it matters.
