Christmas Hoopla Meme

I was just tagged by Stacey for this MEME and because it is Christmas related and I have little content to give you I thought I’d do it!
These are the rules (some of which I will just barely squeak around).
1. List 12 random things about yourself that have to do with Christmas
2. Please refer to it as a ‘hoopla’ and not the dreaded ‘m’-word
3. You have to specifically tag people when you’re done. None of this “if you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged” stuff is allowed…then nobody ends up actually doing it. The number of people who you tag is really up to you — but the more, the merrier to get this ‘hoopla’ circulating through the blogosphere.
4. Please try and do it as quickly as possible. The Christmas season will be over before we know it and I’d like to get as many people involved as possible.
——————————————————————-
1. I love Christmas dearly and am excited to have a few christmas’s in a row that I am not pregnant or breastfeeding during so that I have energy to enjoy the holiday to it’s fullest!
2. For many years I went to midnight mass on Christmas Eve even though I am not Catholic.
3. I LONG to have Christmas outdoor lights up but because of #1 it has not happened. Someday…
4. This year we are going to hilton head for Christmas with Jeff’s family. Trips with them are always a blast so I’m really excited even though we have a long drive with the kids to get there.
5. We buy approximately 3 presents per child.
6. My dad’s side of the family (we total around 50) has a HUGE Christmas Eve bash every year. When everyone was younger it was insane because of the kids running around. Now it’s the great grand children that are multiplying and starting to run around the place. Fortunately, some of the houses have grown with the family so getting 50 in a place is actually possible. In the past there were times that random dancing has broken out.
7. The first present I remember getting was a holly hobby luggage set that I often used to “run away” with. It was packed in diaper boxes and when I opened the wrap to see the box I got really sad… then It was explained something else was inside.
8. One year I got a poloroid camera and thought that rocked.
9. My favorite Christmas Story is by Max Lucado and depicts a fictional view of what heaven may have been like when Jesus was born. It gives me chills every time and reminds me what it is all really about.
10. I am a Christmas Card freak and send anywhere from 150-175 out every year.
11. I don’t like those Christmas sweaters that depict a Christmas scene at all. Nice on teachers I suppose, but I don’t want to ever wear one.
12. As much as I love Christmas, I love the feeling of taking down the decorations and feeling like my house is so much cleaner and less cluttered.

We only give our kids three presents too! We actually started that tradition last year and we love it.
I love Christmas too, but I am also ready to get this tree down, lol!
Hope you are feeling better.
