Some of you may have seen the interview Biden gave to an Orlando Station/ Barbara West. Because she asked him about Barack Obama’s “spreading the wealth” sounding like Marxism they decided to ban the station from interviews. I guess Obama and Biden are just too used to being coddled by the MSM (minus Fox).

Oprah/ Palin and YOUR Thoughts

I’ll be upfront. I’m not an Oprah fan. No, it is not because of her undying support for B. Obama, my dislike for her has been going on for awhile now and I have several reasons for it. I do not watch Oprah, I do not TIVO Oprah. I have nothing to do with Oprah. That being said… I don’t really have an opinion on whether or not Sarah Palin is invited to be on Oprah’s show or not. I do think the boycott is interesting though, simply because I don’t really like Oprah. But that is not what this post is about. This post is about you. Watch the video. What do you think?
Abortion and Palin Around the Blogesphere

I don’t typically post political and activism stuff so close together. Because this is not a political blog but rather a mommy blog that sometimes posts about political stuff, I typically try to space it out more. There has been much that has struck a chord on me lately, so in keeping it real, I’m posting politics again.
———————————-
BEFORE that, I want to make a statement regarding my recent abortion posts. Please understand that they are not a condemnation of any of you who may have had an abortion in the past. I believe our generation has been greatly deceived and largely unaware at the depth of the abortion issue. I know friends who have deeply regretted their abortion/abortions in the past. There is hope and healing for you in Christ. If you are looking for resources on that please email me using the contact page and I will make sure to get you information. God’s love is so wide and so deep and his forgiveness can cover anything. That is the great Hope we have in Christ. Onto news.
———————————–
The extreme left has ranked itself with Perez Hilton (actually Perez usually reports true stories so they aren’t even to Perez’s level). They are now claiming that Trig, the youngest of Sarah Palin’s children who has down’s syndrome, is really the illegitimate child of one of her daughters. Colmes of Hannity and Colmes questioned on his blog whether or not Palin took care of herself during pregnancy and if she possibly brought on the down’s syndrome. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! More on both stories here. (hat tip Missy and Matt Drudge)
Meanwhile certain prominent democrats are joking about hurricane Gustov. Michael Moore says,
“I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven…To just have it planned at the same time, that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for Day One of the Republican convention, up in the Twin Cities, at the top of the Mississippi River. (hat tip: 4 Simpsons)
Don Fowler the former national chairman of the DNC states in the video below,
“The hurricane’s going to hit New Orleans about the time they start [the Republican convention] . . . The timing is, at least it appears now, that it’ll be there Monday. That just demonstrates God’s on our side.”
(hat tip: again 4 Simpsons)
Fowler later apologized claiming he was poking fun at the Rev. Jerry Fawell’s 911 comments.
Obama, Late Term Abortion, & Infanticide. (Chicago Senate Bill 1662)

Part of me wants to chicken out of posting this video… but this time I can’t. I have MANY dear friends that are voting for Obama this November. I see some of the appeal. Some of these people are some of the most sweet, compassionate, beautiful people I know. They feel Obama is the best way to help the poor, get everyone health care, and improve our image around the world. In some terms I disagree in others I don’t. For example, the rest of the world will probably like us more with Obama as our president. But when it comes down to November, for many reasons, he will not get my vote.
A sweet friend, whom I agree with a lot politically sent me the video below. It is hard to watch. If you have a dry eye you are either one super anti-depressants or maybe you need a heart check.
Last time I posted on Obama and his refusal to support the ban on Late Term Abortion (a barbaric practice) I recieved many emotional comments that took the post out of context. With some I wonder if they even read it. I said no where in the post that the president could overturn abortion. I have a brain and understand how our 3 branches of government work. Please do not comment if you did not pay careful attention to my words and watch the video attentively the whole way through.
Why do Obamas extreme (even for his party) views of abortion ensure I will not vote for him this November? (let me be clear though, this is NOT the ONLY reason I will not vote for him, but those are other posts.) 2 main reasons:
1. It is likely the next president will be choosing a supreme court judge. Obama would make sure a pro Roe v Wade judge is in. McCain will more likely choose a judge that would support overturning it. Could overturning it be a long shot? Possibly. But while many of those in my generation have given up on the pro-life movement even though they personally are pro-life. I have not. I know of no where else in our laws where we are able to murder our own people, and I consider abortion a form of murder. Therefore I just can not follow the crowd on giving that issue up. To me it is not a choice that fits under the free will God’s grace has given us.
2. As my first big Obama, late term abortion post, was about… I feel that someone that could know fully about the Late term abortion procedure and vote the way he did must have many character issues. We may not see them yet, but that is a character issue. And now, knowing what this video explains, that Obama at one point was in support of babies that are born alive being left to die. I’m beyond sickened.
Please don’t comment here about how this isn’t true when there are provable written records to prove it.
Now all disclaimer and explaining aside… the video.
EDIT A FEW HOURS LATER:
My friend Velvet who sent me the first video posted a link to this one in the comments, if you want further information watch this video. I’m working on getting even more concrete proof.
EDIT A FEW MORE MINUTES LATER:
Here is a link to the bill that Obama Proposed. Senate Bill 1662. The bill basically says (if you don’t want to go to the link to see the proof.
Amends the Statute on Statutes. Defines "born-alive infant" to include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development. Defines "born alive" to mean the complete expulsion or extraction from the mother of an infant, at any stage of development, who after that expulsion or extraction breathes or has a beating heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, regardless of whether the umbilical cord has been cut and regardless of whether the expulsion or extraction occurs as a result of natural or induced labor, cesarean section, or induced abortion. Effective immediately.
On Obama’s own site there is a chart from planned parenthood defending what bills “threatened” Roe V Wade. They saw defining a baby as alive once born as a THREAT! A THREAT! Here planned parenthood has shoved down the throat of my generation the lie that an inutero baby is not alive and therefore has no rights. Now they even say that of the born alive baby??? This is absolutely counter-intuitive.
Go here to view Obama’s “no” vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 6, 2002. Bill 1663 Was a direct copy of bill 1662 and considered a “companion bill.

You may have noticed that toward the bottom of my sidebar I made a little I heart Huckabee button. Yes, my official endorsement for both the republican nominee. Risky for a girl with a mixed political readership? Perhaps. But hopefully you don’t just read me for my politics
If I could take 8 minutes of your time this video should explain pretty well why I love Mike Huckabee. Many of the main issues I care about our touched on. To get further information on any of the topics you may have questions about (such as “fair tax”,) Feel free to click my I heart Huckabee button and learn more. Sit back, relax, and enjoy this video.

Sidebar Additions

First I want to highlight some ‘useful links’ and ‘news’ I have put on my sidebar. Many are the same links I had on my previous blog. But an addition is a link to sermons from my church. Enjoy if you wish. Also Wikipedia is a source I constantly draw from for information. Especially since I did horrible in history class while in school! If for some odd reason you have never heard of it, it is basically an online Encyclopedia that is constantly being updated. And because it can constantly grow without worrying about printing costs and the size of the collection you will find more there than any encyclopedia! My brother is even in it. You could wikipedia people you know to see if they are in it!
You never know!
There is a link to BIBLE GATEWAY I highly recommend for looking up scriptures both by passage and topically. You can do so in any version. I *think* I have mentioned this before?
To the left I have featured some music and one video from Music Christian (dot) com. I promise I will never ever put anything I don’t love or belive in on my page. If you see it you have 100% garuntee it is something I have done very intentionally. I will change what is up there from time to time based on mood, or album release, book release etc.
The first featured is Praise Baby Collection. It is a great gift for anyone who is pregnant! Also excellent for those with babies. My son Owen LOVED these (still does even though he is older). I would put him in his bouncer in front of them while I was cooking dinner. It was so nice to have worship playing in the house accociated with images he loved to watch. I also would put it on if he was having a fit and I couldn’t seem to calm him. It almost never failed! Worship seems to calm these little ones.
The other 3 are cd’s I love.
The Fray is a band in mainstream music… but they love Jesus and their lyrics contains many themes about chuch, community, heartbreak, and walking out the Christian life. Very good stuff.
The Jeremy Camp cd Stay has touched my life so many times. I don’t know how many of you have heard of him or know anything about his story. He wrote this cd after losing his young wife. They were married young and she was diagnosed with cancer. They didn’t have long together. This cd contains many songs that are working it out with God, giving god his pain in the midst of incredible sorrow. I have cried to this cd and cried out to God. It helps me to put my pain in the right perspective and depend on God to carry me through.
Mat Kearney is an old friend of JJ’s and mine. He was around when we met and witnessed “us” becoming an “us”. He is special to our hearts. He also happens to be a great song-writer! He has a really smoothe soothing voice and mainstream radio has realized that. He can be heard on stations everywhere and has recently been on tours with Sheryl Crow and John Mayer. He is a great guy that loves the Lord and is gaining recognition in an area where I would say he is a minority.
If you are interested in learning any more on those CD’s/Video you can click that link (no i don’t make money on the click, only a small percentage on a sale :)) And you can either buy it there or look elsewhere online or in your local store. All 3 of the cd’s should be found most places. The dvd may be at your local Christian bookstore, but other than that you will have to find it online.
Enjoy! Hopefully I can turn you onto new things you will love. If you are ever offended by any product I place on my sidebar please tell me. They don’t contain the same disclaimer my blogroll does. I will definitely take something down if you find reasonable issues with them.
It’s Potty Time!

What a day!
The big tasks today were getting my site running and working through glitches and potty-training Owen.
Yesterday Owen had his 3 year old well-child appointment. He’s 39 1/4 inches and 37 lbs. 90 percentile on both. He’s rather healthy (thank you Lord). Good lungs. Good blood-pressure. Nice teeth
. The area we weren’t so hot in? Potty-training (no surprise there!) The doctor had a really good talk with him about it and gave me some really great articles on it. I explained to her how confused I was about all the potty-training advise that is out there! I felt guilty about the idea of “making him go” but knew this was a total power-struggle.
She explained that Owen comprehends perfectly what is going on and is ready for a “bare bottom treatment” where I take time off and go nowhere, take his pants off and let him learn. I told her that I had heard that would make him have problems later. She explained that those studies are more indications for children that are training at force at a younger age, and the fact that he did it once and was excited about it was more of an indication that he knows what is going on.
SO! We did it today. I took his diaper off this morning and wouldn’t put it back on. He had a COMPLETE fit! I should have timed it, but didn’t. It SEEMED like forever! finally he gave in and played trains with Lukas. He didn’t go until after Lunch but he did it! Then he got “potty-fever!” He wanted to go over and over! I think I have spent about as much time in the bathroom today as I do when I’m pregnant (and throwing up). Maybe more!
After today’s festivities I took a little interview of the little-big-boy for my blog. Enjoy ![]()
On an unrelated note, my mother-in-law will be coming in town on Friday until Thursday. She called to let us know yesterday and we are really exited. It is always so nice to have JJ’s parents here. We are truly blessed by both of our parents. I know so many friends who have less than idea in-law situations and I can honestly say that every in-law I have is a blessing to my life. They are truly family to me.
Some Some Summer-time!

Days at the pool, nights on the patio, dinners outside, parks, zoos, car-trips, family, sunshine, bike-rides, long-walks, less TV, flowers, trees, red cheeks, highlights, swingsets, driveway play-time, basketball hoops, beaches, long days, BBQ, sidewalk chalk, spinklers, water fights, blowing bubbles, laying out, pony-tails, naked face, endless smiles on my childrens’ faces, boating, popcicles, ice cream sandwiches, cook-outs, laughter, fresh-cut lawn, lush green grass, flip flops, tank tops….
What words resonate summer to you?
In honor of my official “summer is launching” weekend (yes, this is a holiday in my very own mind) I played with imovie and tried to make a little slide show. I have a lot to learn. I have already spent two times as much time on this as I really budgeted for tonight, oh well.
I wish the picture quality transferred better, and I wish I knew how to do a lot more… but It’s always fun to post your first try and laugh at it a year or two later when you are so much better at it
Anyway, Laugh, Enjoy.

in other news… the boys seem to really be either loving eachother physcially or beating each other physically at all times. Fortunately, I was able to catch a couple of the loving time on camera. I almost missed it. I was cleaning up, JJ was on his computer, and just several feet away they were doing this… all on their own.
In other news… It’s Memorial Day.
For all those who have given their lives, who have been willing to give their lives, and who have lost loved ones fighting for our country in one capacity or another. May we never forget you or belittle the sacrafice you have made. And may all the troops now serving be brought home safely at the right time. You are in my prayers… and no doubt the prayers of many others.
