If you haven’t noticed, since November I have had a charity button up featuring a family that is in process of adoption.  I would like to continue featuring opportunities to give but need to know of more!  For now, I will be changing the spot to links to charities that are my favorites.  If you know of or are involved in a charity that you would like to feature here and even have a support button on my page please let me know.  I will prayerfully decide what I should and shouldn’t feature.  And of course I will have to make sure it is a legitimate charity.  Please use my Contact page to contact me.

No, I never knew a vacuum would be so desired in my life. Never did I think my request for Christmas would be for a vacuum. If you told me 15 years ago I would wonder how my life could have ended up dull enough to want a vacuum so bad. But folks, my life is not dull. I love it. BUT, I did want a vacuum for Christmas. An Oreck to be exact.

My friend Lisa introduced me to it on fine play-date day. I was captivated by it’s power teamed with its MERE 8 LBS weight. The low profile that allowed it to slip under couches and under cabinet ledges. It seemed so easy. So much easier than mine.

I have some great vacuums so that is where the confusion came in for the Husband. My parents passed on a Rainbow to me that is absolutely excellent. But it also isn’t the type of thing I have time to pull out after every meal when the kids have totally crumified the kitchen floors. And my hoover isn’t horrible. It just really does not excel on my wood floors.

So my sweet husband took a trip to the vacuum store only to find out the top of the line of what I wanted was close to $800. Yikes. Needless to say, I was informed that it would not be a gift under the tree this year.

I did however get money from a couple of different people, and there is always ebay :)

I bid (and won!) A refurbished Oreck that looks absolutely brand new. It came today!!! You should see my floors ;) Finger lickin’ good.

As mom’s we are plagued with guilt aren’t we? If it is not one thing it will be sure to be another. For instance. I don’t have a lot of guilt about my children’s sleep habits, they are pretty good. BUT ask me about most other areas, and I have guilt. I will probably disclaimer or try to explain. But the truth is… there is intense shame under the surface.

So here goes. A confessional for me with absolutely NO disclaimer.  NO explanation, NO excuses.

I’m doing this for the sake of reviewing myself next year… so bare with my cliche post :)

  1. Not use pregnancy as an excuse to stay out of the gym. I need to keep walking and do some swimming!
  2. Figure out how in the world I will juggle 3 children 4 years and younger.
  3. Get on a better cleaning/ laundry schedule.
  4. Interact with the kids more, more crafts, and activities. Help Owen with his letters and small motor skills.
  5. Be more consistent in general.

This is a start! (and all I can think of for the moment.)

On another note. I have a babygate on sale at ebay. The auction ends in a few days and last I checked it was at 16. Just thought I would let you know in case you need one ;)

I tried my best to find some form of “resolutions” from 2007 to evaluate how I did, but then I remembered I’m super funny about those things called resolutions. I’m jaded because no one keeps theirs! Including me. So mine were more of a paragraph form and harder to separate. Still I’m going to see how I did.

From a post written on January 5th, 2007.

I’m really looking forward to 2007. I look forward to really feeling myself… without being pregnant or having a to be a food source. I look forward to enjoying the boys as they grow and having dates with

On way back from hilton head vacation this week.

Me: Wow look at this fog. this bridge looks like it’s going up into heaven. Look Owen we are driving to heaven!

Owen: I don’t want to go to heaven.

Me: (gasp) What? Why not?

Owen: I want to go to the Hotelllllllllllll! (trailing whine)

Me: Oh honey, heaven is much nicer than the hotel.

Funny, a 3-year-olds perspective. Maybe it is light-shedding. Remember being younger, (some of you,) and thinking, “I don’t want to go to heaven until after I get married and have kids…” Or “I want to be a (fill in the blank) before I go to heaven.”

God has to be up in heaven hearing that and giggling at what we think would be a “must reach destination” before heaven.

I know I have not been blogging, yada, yada, yada…

For a blog writing addict like me that says a lot. Truthfully? I have had no content folks. This sweet baby inside me has robbed me of all my creativity and anything slightly resembling a deep thought. I go to bed with the boys do, I wake up when they do, I nap when they do. And that makes up my day.

I do have a couple confessions of brainless mishaps I have done lately. If I don’t confess them my husband threatens to start a blog and do it for me. Of course he would never really do that because he is a self-reputed “not the blogging type” kind of guy.

Anyway, for starters. Read more

You may have noticed I have not blogged with my usual consistency. Morning (all day) sickness has robbed me of my blog juju.

Since I have been spending a lot of time lately with my head down toward the toilet I thought I would share some “must-haves” to help you get through the dreaded morning sickness! Read more

I saw a story this morning regarding an initative (in one city) to jail parents that do not vaccinate their children. I had trouble finding a domestic article on the topic though I’m sure by end of day there will be many. I found this one from BBC, but it does not cover the topic very well. Read more

Again, another snarky title. But I want this to garner serious thought both from my Christian readers and those that wouldn’t consider themselves “Christian”.

If you have watched a lot of news lately you may have realized that the US Senate Finance Committee headed by (R) Chuck Grassley has initiated an investigation into 6 prominent evangelical, specifically pentecostal leaders finances. These are all leaders who gain incredible donations for their ministries. They are also known for their extravagant lifestyles that include private jets, Rolex watches, Armani suits, lavish mansions etc. The six being investigated are as follows: Read more
