Well Well Well

I took a little break yesterday. I needed it. Am I doing alright? Yes. I pretty much knew that Obama winning would be the outcome, but I suppose part of me held out hope McCain would. My friend assures me he will govern from the middle. I hope he is right.
The thing that I dislike the most is the liberal trinity aspect. Pelosi, Reed, and Obama ruling this nation. Do my friends that voted Democratic realize that Pelosi defended a homosexual orgy depicting the last supper as an ad for the controversial San Francisco street fair? Oh well. Do they realize that abortion isn’t passe issue and that Obama will most likely choose 2 to 3 supreme court judges? Ah well. What is done is done and the Lord’s hand is in it. I still serve him above all.
Because it’s good to say something positive… it is quite a landmark in our history that we have a 1/2 African American president. To think of all the ground covered since the 50s! My question… Should there be affirmative action anymore when we have progressed this far? Food for thought.
Either way I keep living my life. I’ll probably watch the news less than I did during this almost 2 year campaigning season. I’m very interested to see what this ride will be like and what history will show was the right way to go. I hope I’m very wrong about Obama. I hope my friends who are his fans are right. After all, country first.

So far I don’t have anything to say today. I’m left somewhat speechless now that this day has finally approached. Possibly because I know most minds are made up. We’ll all vote our conscience. Then we’ll see what happens. Then regardless, I and many of you should and will trust in the Lord regardless. At least I’ll be getting free Starbucks.
Trick or Treat and Life in General

Well…. We did go trick or treating, but my battery was dead, hence no pictures. So Jenn, Pam, Peggy, Jodi… please send me any and all
We had a blast and went in a whole pack of kids. Our neighborhood is prime trick or treating because of the closeness of the houses and vast number of children. We started the night on our street. Most of the streets had what is called a “cider home” that would have cider, drinks, chili, and snacks. That was great.
People in this neighborhood go all out. Many of the homes were decorated like they would be for Christmas, but with orange lights, webs, and spiders. Some were a little scary for my taste, but most were just cutesie and fun.
After the kids’ bags were so full they could hardly carry them we ended up with incredible chill time at my friend Peggy’s house. She was so generous to open her house up last minute. The kids’ played upstairs and the adults hung downstairs just having great chats and bonding
Trick or treat was a lot of fun for all involved.
Yesterday church was amazing. My friends Peggy and Ian are going with us now and we love that. My friend Jenn came along this Sunday and liked it. The message was all about how the Kingdom of God is not an earthly one, not tangible, but the Israelites were looking for that. He compared it to how we are looking for that in our political system, that we have to remember regardless of the outcome we have an intangible kingdom that can not be shaken. That maybe even if Obama wins it will actually energize his people to pray and seek out rivival instead of sitting back and doing nothing like the religious right did during the Bush administration. He said regardless of who is president our call is the same.
This wasn’t used during the sermon but in Psalm 146:3 it says, “Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save.” I cling to this verse right now. The fact is you have not seen on this blog a ton of McCain excitement. Not that I don’t like McCain, I do… but this time around I don’t think all in the Christian world will be right if he is on the “throne” (so to speak)…. But I do think a lot will be wrong if Obama is. But either way it should not shake our resolve. We trust in a supernatural authority of our Lord God Creator of all. I do think that Obama’s policies will not be good for the health of our country and I feel they are in direct contrast to how our fore-fathers set up our government and authorities. I think if he does all he says he will that our nation (after a few years) will see some pretty depressing times that make the times we are in now look like the “good ole days”. But regardless, we will serve the Lord. In good times and bad times. I’m so thankful to have more than our President and Congress to trust in.
Ecclesiastes 7:14- “When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future.
That’s all I got for today.

Some of you may have seen the interview Biden gave to an Orlando Station/ Barbara West. Because she asked him about Barack Obama’s “spreading the wealth” sounding like Marxism they decided to ban the station from interviews. I guess Obama and Biden are just too used to being coddled by the MSM (minus Fox).

Tears just welled up as I watched the next VP of our great nation holding her special needs child while soaking up the applause of a thankful crowd. A mom. Vice President Mom. I’m so proud to see this moment. A moment when a 1/2 african-american man can be a nominee for president and where a woman, a mom, is going to be our next VP. (yes, it is optimism you read there…)
This mom is very proud. Prouder than I ever thought I could be at this kind of moment. I was surprised when John McCain officially chose his running-mate how emotional I was about it. I never knew I dreamed of seeing this… until that moment. Every day that I learn more about Sarah Palin, the more I love her. Today I watched a video on YouTube where she was addressing a youth group (or masters commission?). She was absolutely encouraging and inspiring. BUT the commentors thought she was a religious nut. I guess I am too. Today I saw an Us weekly cover that oozed it’s ugly sexism. Today I saw an UNBELIEVABLE woman give an incredible speech and then hold her youngest while soaking in the applause.
I grew up being told I could do anything. In my family going to college wasn’t even a choice- you went. I dreamed of wearing a power suit and kicking butt in the corporate world. My dreams changed since then, which is good because I prefer designer jeans and a fitted tee :) When I majored (initially) in chemistry my father thought I would be the one to find the cure for cancer… and he wasn’t even joking. My dad always believed in me. He never wanted me to sell myself short. I think that is what set me up to be so proud at this moment. Deep inside it is instilled in me that if you are pretty, or you are a mom, or you are a woman or all of the above, there is no reason you can not be exactly who God destined you to be with absolute excellence. There is no reason that your destiny can be so great that you are humbled in the deepest part of your soul.
Negative commentors… you can’t rain on my parade because I don’t care what you say. Ms. Palin has proven she can take it, and so can I. I think it is unfortunate the depths some stoop to. I think some of the crap being vomited on the leftist of left sites is deplorable and will not even entertain it. I will never buy and US weekly again (though I really haven’t for about a year now anyway). And I WILL stop thinking McCain is going to lose this election.

I’m proud to be part of a generation that does not see color of skin as a disqualification for president! Can I get an Amen? As plainly obvious in the post below, I do not support Obama, but I do take pride in the fact that we have come so far from where the previous generation so wrongly was.
NOW McCain has made his Veep pick. And it is not only a WOMAN, but a MOMMY. A fifth time mom as recent as APRIL. As a mommy myself I think this is incredible move forward for women. She has an infant and is running for Veep. Nice. Me next? (Just kidding)
What a great year.
Obama, Late Term Abortion, & Infanticide. (Chicago Senate Bill 1662)

Part of me wants to chicken out of posting this video… but this time I can’t. I have MANY dear friends that are voting for Obama this November. I see some of the appeal. Some of these people are some of the most sweet, compassionate, beautiful people I know. They feel Obama is the best way to help the poor, get everyone health care, and improve our image around the world. In some terms I disagree in others I don’t. For example, the rest of the world will probably like us more with Obama as our president. But when it comes down to November, for many reasons, he will not get my vote.
A sweet friend, whom I agree with a lot politically sent me the video below. It is hard to watch. If you have a dry eye you are either one super anti-depressants or maybe you need a heart check.
Last time I posted on Obama and his refusal to support the ban on Late Term Abortion (a barbaric practice) I recieved many emotional comments that took the post out of context. With some I wonder if they even read it. I said no where in the post that the president could overturn abortion. I have a brain and understand how our 3 branches of government work. Please do not comment if you did not pay careful attention to my words and watch the video attentively the whole way through.
Why do Obamas extreme (even for his party) views of abortion ensure I will not vote for him this November? (let me be clear though, this is NOT the ONLY reason I will not vote for him, but those are other posts.) 2 main reasons:
1. It is likely the next president will be choosing a supreme court judge. Obama would make sure a pro Roe v Wade judge is in. McCain will more likely choose a judge that would support overturning it. Could overturning it be a long shot? Possibly. But while many of those in my generation have given up on the pro-life movement even though they personally are pro-life. I have not. I know of no where else in our laws where we are able to murder our own people, and I consider abortion a form of murder. Therefore I just can not follow the crowd on giving that issue up. To me it is not a choice that fits under the free will God’s grace has given us.
2. As my first big Obama, late term abortion post, was about… I feel that someone that could know fully about the Late term abortion procedure and vote the way he did must have many character issues. We may not see them yet, but that is a character issue. And now, knowing what this video explains, that Obama at one point was in support of babies that are born alive being left to die. I’m beyond sickened.
Please don’t comment here about how this isn’t true when there are provable written records to prove it.
Now all disclaimer and explaining aside… the video.
EDIT A FEW HOURS LATER:
My friend Velvet who sent me the first video posted a link to this one in the comments, if you want further information watch this video. I’m working on getting even more concrete proof.
EDIT A FEW MORE MINUTES LATER:
Here is a link to the bill that Obama Proposed. Senate Bill 1662. The bill basically says (if you don’t want to go to the link to see the proof.
Amends the Statute on Statutes. Defines "born-alive infant" to include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development. Defines "born alive" to mean the complete expulsion or extraction from the mother of an infant, at any stage of development, who after that expulsion or extraction breathes or has a beating heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, regardless of whether the umbilical cord has been cut and regardless of whether the expulsion or extraction occurs as a result of natural or induced labor, cesarean section, or induced abortion. Effective immediately.
On Obama’s own site there is a chart from planned parenthood defending what bills “threatened” Roe V Wade. They saw defining a baby as alive once born as a THREAT! A THREAT! Here planned parenthood has shoved down the throat of my generation the lie that an inutero baby is not alive and therefore has no rights. Now they even say that of the born alive baby??? This is absolutely counter-intuitive.
Go here to view Obama’s “no” vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 6, 2002. Bill 1663 Was a direct copy of bill 1662 and considered a “companion bill.

Week News Cap (for my friends who don’t watch the news)

It seems Micheal Moore has been up to another one of his mockumenteries.
Shortly after JJ returned from his missions trip to Cuba, I mentioned in a post that Michael Moore had been there 2 weeks previous. This article from the NY Post covers it here Thanks 4simpsons and Verum Serum for tipping me to this.

The Supreme Court of the U.S. has decided to uphold the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act! Pro-Lifers are counting it as a victory! Presidential Candidates for 2008 Praising this decision are, Mccain, Juliani and Romny. Barack Obama has strongly critisized the decision, while Hillary Clinton has proclaimed it an “erosion of our contitutional right” (Tip to Stevereenie for the quote.)
update: I found this post on The Voice Of Reason blog that quotes most of the candidates response to this supreme court decision. Please give it a read. Quotes more of the Candidates than I have listed.

I find it pretty impossible you do not know what happened at Virginia Tech this week, so I will not re-cap it. But I do want to say something about is how insane it is that threats of copy-cats have happened popped around the Nation. Reportedly, 15 schools shut-down with with these threats. Are there really that many crazies running around? I guess so. Its rather un-nerving. It makes me believe we have been very blessed to not have it happen before.
Debates spawning from this story include:
1. Gun Control Laws
2. Campus Security
3. Laws regarding involuntary commiting of crazy people to mental health facilities.
4. What colleges and/or students have the right to know about the history of a student vs. privacy laws.
5. On what grounds public colleges are allowed to refuse enrollment to a mentally ill student.
6. Campus mass-communication methods.
7. Our we teaching our students to be too tolerant?
8. Whether or not NBC should have shown Killer’s manifesto.
9. Effects of Anti-depressants (I just heard this one, and am somewhat surprised by it.)
I’m sure the list will continue to grow.
People are doing the normal finger-pointing that follows tragedies like this. Some of the fingers are pointing in understandable directions… but let’s not forget that the truest blame lays on this mass murderer. (forgive me for not even wanting to use his name, and you will find no picture of him on this blog.)

Senator Harry Reid (d) in a speech this week proclaimed that the war in Iraq is lost. Excuse me? Excuse me? Is he the one with the authority to proclaim this? How does this effect morale over in the mid-east? How could you possibly speak something like this when we have soldiers on the field? Popular political blogger Michelle Malkin has had an open invite for soldiers to write in responses to Harry Reid. Check them out on starting here.

Actor, Alec Baldwin left a voicemail on his daughter’s cell phone that should make any parent cringe. TMZ aired it here. Alec has now tried to go to court to pull the plug on it and has issued an apology.
As a mom, on one hand I don’t want to be judgemental because I know I have lost my patience and wished I could take words or tones back. However, the excessive nature of this rant places it in the emotionally abusive catagory. My hope is that the complete embarassment of this causes this man to get some help, change, and restore relationship with his daughter.
