I’m a former Career girl, now SAHM (stay at home mom). I love Jesus, my Family, Politics, Current Events, Shopping, Traveling, Coffee, The Beach, The Pool, Play-dates, Date-nights, Girls Night Out, Church, Bible-study, Learning, Making Friends, Being challenged, Taking pictures of my kids, Walking, Summer, Spring, and Fall, Skiing, Walking, Hiking, Working-out, Laying-out, Design…….

On this blog you will find a mix of Life/Mommy Things, Christianity, News, Opinion, Product Reviews, and Politics. You may only like one aspect of it if any… That is perfectly fine with me. After all, if we all had the exact same interests I am sure the world would be boring. Mommy Zabs pretty much contains what I care about. And that just can’t be limited to only mommy, or only politics… and so on. Comments are always welcomed. Just be sensitive and respectful, both to me and other commenter’s. If I feel that anything posted is hurtful, I reserve the right to take it down.

My hope is to make you feel at home here.

F.A.Q.

1. How do you say ZABS?
rhymes with JOBS, not LABS.

2. Why do you have such a wierd nickname?
First off, my real name, which I really like… is Elizabeth. Having a name with 9 letters encourages all sorts of nicknames. The most commonly used one growing up, (thanks to my 2nd grade teacher) was Liz. When I was old enough to care I hated being called Liz, but short of changing school systems, there was not much I could do. As soon as I went to college I became Elizabeth again. Still, people seemed to think it was a mouthful. Since I never approved of the many conventional nicknames (aside from Lizzy, and then only if said in an endearing way,) A friend of mine decided to take the middle of my name, ZABET, and call me it. With this group of friends it seemed to fit because we were all a little off the beaten path. Soon even ZABET got to be a mouthful for them and ZABS emerged. For about 10 years now a large group of my friends still call me ZABS.
