I’m sure most of you have heard by now (since most of you are just as much entertainment junkies as I am) that Katie Couric has left her spot open on the Today show (good, I never could stand her!).

Her spot has been taken over by Meridith from The View, who also isn’t my favorite, but no one grated me like miss Couric could, so good for Meridith.

However this has left her chair open in the View. Now I know you all don’t love the View (right Sarcomical? If I recall you hate on it.) But I like watching for a couple aspects. They are women talking over coffee, very much my style… AND I adore Elisabeth Hasselbeck, this girl kept me watching.

Her co-host Joy makes me laugh.

Star- well she’s allright, I roll my eyes from time to time.

Barbara Walters drives me batty.

BUT WITH THE EDITION OF THIS GIRL- (rosie), I just may never, ever watch again.

How could they do this to their show. I think I’m over it… Owen you can have noggin at 11am weekdays again.

What do Where’s Waldo, Freddy Krueger, and I have in common?

STRIPES!

Yes, I can’t deny it… I have had a bizarre attraction for alternating color horizontal stripes! I have never intentionally said, “I need to go buy some stripes today”. But this weekend I finally got all moved into and organized in my non-pregnant closet and voila… common theme,

STRIPES!

The same kind of stripes at that! I pulled these from my closet to take a picture… but this is just the start. I would say 80% of owen’s PJ’s contain the same kind of Jail bird stripes… and Lukas… he has stripes ALL over his wardrobe. Both sets of curtains I have for my house so far… stripes!

So this thursday…. things I love? Stripes.

Have I ever brought these adorable pacifiers up before? They are little soothie pacifiers (which are breast-feeding friendly) with a little stuffed animal attached! My pediatrician had recommended it to me.

Lukas and/or I love them so much because:
1. When his pacie starts slipping he has more to grab onto to help put it back in.
2. With such limited coordination at that age, they are usually helpless!. It’s also cute to see him playing with it a little. :)
3. When I go up to his crib to soothe him it is much easier for me to find then a normal pacie is.

Anyway, my only 2 things that could be done to make them even better!
1. Offer the wubbanub with a vanilla scented soothie like the kind you get in the hospital and can find online.
and 2. make the legs of silky material since the little ones love rubbing silkies so much.

You can go HERE to check them out or buy them. They also make a good little baby/shower gift.

I heart Spring… but who doesn’t? The grass is starting to turn green :) Everything is starting to bloom! The people that lived in my house before me planted amazing flowers and trees… I hope I can keep it all up! Especially the rose bushes. Owen has so much room to play with a huge front and back yard and the perfect big wheel driveway! I have a feeling we will be outside A LOT this spring. So for this Thursday… My love is Spring. And this is O in one of our hundreds of outdoor shots. Basketball (”bassetball”) in the background. Elephant bubble blower in hand… and who knows what he’s trying to pick up.

This months Self Portrait Tuesday theme is April Fools. Inspiried by the delighful, most glamorous Joanna’s finger tricks…. mine is a tounge trick. Yes, I can touch my nose with my long tounge. Not so entertaining now a-days, but used to be a hit at grade school parties! I would have documented wiggling my ears, but it doesn’t really photograph as well :) Enjoy laughing- at me.

The absolute Peace and QUIET of naptime :)!

Seriously, this week in particular… the boys arriving on a matching naptime is a complete Godsend. An antidote for my sanity. Definitely picture worthy.

So whats up with this week?
We travelled for the first time as a family of 4. Jeff had GMA week in Nashville so the whole family came with. We have been staying with my sweet cousin Jade and her husband Brad. Let me just say that this week was nothing like I thought it would be.

Let’s start with my “blog lunch” With these wonderful bloggers, Meridith, LuLu, Hula Seventy, AJ Fabulous, GlamJo. I can’t overstate the fact of how wonderful it was to be with those girls. They are all so unique and wonderful. Each of them has a special part of my heart. The only problem was, my dear sweet almost 2-year-old Owen was an absolute HANDFUL! He is usually remarkable at eating-out… probably because he has had to do it so much. But this time, this one very important time, he decided to irrationally want his daddy and be impossible to please. Oh well. I missed most the convo, but it was still good to be around everyone and soak all there remarkableness in through osmosis.

Tuesday during the day I went to visit my friend Shannon and her little boy Grahams house for a playdate. Graham was born 3 weeks before Owen and we planned on having years of playdates with them together… But after 3 mos we moved. It was so fun to finally have them at an age that we really could have them play together. It was so wonderful… they got a long so well. The conversation was great too. It was worth the 1.5 hour getting through major wreck traffic to get too, and the speeding ticket I got right before I got off the exit.

THEN that night I did have a very nice dinner at the Factory. nice nice. Until I got a call from my Amazing Husband that Owen seemed to be really hot. So on the way home I stopped at some nasty grocery store and picked up a thermometer and some Motrin. Sure enough- Owen was 103.7!!!! So that is what we have been batteling the last few days. Missed lunches with friends, Missed strolling Downtown Franklin, Missed shopping at Greenhills. Several friends never got calls to tell them I was here, because I knew with a sick little one, I wasn’t going much of anywhere.

I did however get to go to a party at a friends while my sweet husband stayed with the boys… and a coffee with another dear friend. Owen is still battleing super high fevers… but I think he is on the mend… and that hopefully tomorrow morning Tornado warnings will stop coming here and we can drive home.

I love that little one, both of them actually. But the irrational tantrums that come with fevers… oh my. The dualing tears while I’m breastfeeding… the kicking medicine out of my hands and across the bed in the middle of the night.. the AMOUNT of times I have been slapped by my grumpy sick child… Nap time is a blessing. Isn’t it funny though. Things can be so trying with him (owen) but the minute I see him sleeping there I am convinced he is a perfect little angel. Or when he looks at me with a flirty little smile… I melt.

Okay, so that was a long post for THINGS I LOVE THURSDAY. I’m not even sure I got everything in there, Long week and my head is a little fuzzy.

OH WAIT! I forgot to mention the golf ball sized hail i saw falling on my new mini today- nice. But at least the Tornados did not hit us. We have a lot to be thankful for.

AND Jeff lost his license and our visa. Nice.

I have much to catch up blog-wise including meeting up with some lovely blog-friends (frienternets as sarcomical calls it) for lunch at satco on Monday :) BUT I don’t have those pics uploaded yet and am about to go to bed really SHORTLY.

In the meanwhile, I had to post this photo phone pic of Owen from this evening. Him loving the cupcake his aunt Jadey made him. (We are visiting them in Nashville). I just thought this was too adorable not to share.

Eat em up!
