Little Fountain in the Shower

Yesterday I had severe shower desperation. I had gone a little too long without one. We have a rather large walk in shower so I figured I would satisfy Owen’s curiousity and let him join me. Oh, If I had only brought my camera in to catch his euphoria! He would sit under the spray with his hands out in a recieving position close his eyes with his face up into the water. It was so cute. This kid loves water! After doing that for a while his passtime was banging on the shower floor to drum the water. This activity became even more fun while accompanying it with crawling. Finally, the shower ended, I shut off the water, and as if on cue Owen started to pee. He was just sitting there so it went high up into the air and made a perfect arch. He looked down at it completely amazed and exclaimed “OH WOW!”. That made my day.

On the pregnancy front… I have started getting quesy. It’s nothing like it was with Owen yet. But still no fun. The evenings are worse for some reason. During the day, Orlando’s weather is getting hot and humid. I walk outside and start sweating instantly! AND forgot how every task can feel like a mountain when you are pregnant. My massive “things to do” list gets about 2 things crossed out a day. (Sigh) Oh well. Here we go again!

CHANGE

It is always happening. I honestly adapt pretty well, I always have. Or maybe I used to. My patience for change is starting to wear rather thin. Just when it seems I reach the finish line, a destination… it seems something else comes up. If I were talking about minute changes here… you know, a season, a car, landscape and so on… it wouldn’t phase me. But no for the last 2.5 years it has been about life altering change on a constant basis. I’m really tired. All this being said, there is no better place than being in the center of God’s plan for your life. That doesn’t always line up with what we thought we wanted. So here I am. Still in the center of dramatic change. Longing, crying out for a desitnation, a pause. Selah. One thing I can say, I never wanted ot have a “boring” life. And that I have not had. My life has been quite the adventure. But right now boring does not seem like a bad idea.

Due to large amounts of SPAM I have taken Jon’s advice and changed my setting to only let people registered to blogspot to post. It’s a shame I have to do this because lame companies are spamming. Why they have to upset our little blog world.

I’ve been FREAKING SPAMMED

Okay my last post just got BOMBARDED with spams…. oh no. What is happening? If this starts happening regularly I will have to shut this down. I just spent 5 minutes getting rid of spams. That is a bother I don’t want to have to deal with. How rude to ruin something someone loves to do. Especially when they are a mom and this is such a great outlet :( Anyone know how to stop this?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN!

Owen It’s your first birthday EVER!
Today you have already tried to play with a dead roach and squirted RAID in your mouth, which got me on the phone with poison control. You silly boy!

I wish I could articulate how much I love you and you have changed my life for the better. I remember thinking that having kids would be good, but my life would end at that point. I had no clue that it would be the beginning of living for me.

You never cease to amaze me. You don’t even have to be doing anything. You can just sit there and stare at the TV and I’m entranced. I love looking at you precious face. Those pretty lips, huge eyes, chubby cheeks, button nose, and round head. I just want to stare and stare. I swear I can see you growing while I look at you.

I love watching you do the simplest things… like pick out a toy from your toy box. I love watching your mind work. I love discovering what makes you laugh. Your sense of humor is so quirky! I even think your cry is adorable, even though at times it breaks my heart. Sometimes I just sit and stare at your little feet! Oh they are so cute, and to think some day they will be huge like your dads!

I’m so glad you love people. Everywhere we go you are waving and smiling at people. You draw people in. That is such a powerful gift. God can use that in such amazing ways. I pray so hard that You will grow to have Christ in the center of your life, so when people are drawn to you they will see Jesus and want more of him.

Owen means “Mighty Warrior” and this you truly are. You are a little Samson in your strength. We are going to need to pray that strength be tempered by the Holy Spirt to be used the way God would want it use. It is a strong quality. One with courage, You are a leader O. Your middle name, Jeffrey, means “God’s peace”. What a perfect balance to “mighty warrior” We pray that you will be a peace maker, that you will use your strength, leadership, and charisma to bring people together. You are called to speak God’s peace into peoples traumatic lives.

May you always follow God and his plan for you. May we learn how to lead you. May we learn how to nurture your strength and teach you boundaries so it can be focused. I pray we never crush it… but encourage it in the right direction.

I hope there is never a day that goes by where you question how much your parents love you. How you have been the biggest blessing our lives could have been given from God. You have taught us more than I feel we could ever teach you.

I love you
Happy Birthday.
